Albion House Hair Salon takes care of the personal information you provide us and respects your privacy and the privacy of all our clients, potential, previous and current employees. The personal information we collect is used only for the purposes intended and we do not share or disclose for purposes other than those listed here or required by law.
We have created this policy so that you can understand what personal information we collect, how we use it and why.
What information we collect about you, how we use It and why
We collect information about you when you book an appointment for a service or treatment, visit the salon for a service or treatment, buy a product or apply for a job, whether contact is online, on paper, by email, over the phone or face to face.
The information you give us may include your name, address, email address, and phone number, so we can schedule bookings and contact you for legitimate reasons when necessary.
We often ask for your relevant service or product use history so that we can select the right services or products to use, we may also ask you about health conditions which is especially important when considering services affected by allergies, pregnancy, or skin conditions.
We will contact you via phone, email or SMS to confirm appointments booked and remind you of upcoming appointments. We consider your having made the appointment as consent to undertake this activity but, if you want, you may opt-out at any time.
After visiting us we may send you an email or SMS asking you to rate our services and provide feedback. We consider your agreement and participation in the service as consent to undertake this activity but, if you want, you may opt out at any time.
We sometimes take photographs for promotional use but will always ask at the time the photo is taken for your permission to do this, very often ensuring that the focus is on the service and not the person. You are not obliged and may refuse a photograph at any time.
We will not undertake phone, mail, email or SMS marketing without you first providing consent for us to do so. Our marketing campaigns are automated and use rules based on services and products purchased and information we collect from you. For example, we may send marketing campaigns related to your birthday, the fact we miss you (you have not visited for 6 months) and other special days like Valentine’s Day and Christmas. Of course, you may opt out of receiving marketing material at any time.
For clients under the age of 16, we will only keep and use your personal information with the consent of your parent, carer or guardian. If you book or contact us via the website where your age is not initially requested, we will endeavor to obtain consent as soon as able.
When recruiting and employing you we ask for information essential for ascertaining your suitability for a position and when employed for the processing of payroll and pensions, both with relevant contact information. This includes,
name, address, telephone number or personal email address, date of birth, national Insurance number,
employment history (e.g. job application, employment references or secondary employment), education history (e.g. qualifications),
relevant health information.
If relevant, we will also retain information regarding your training and development and the courses you may have carried out during your employment for the purposes of your ongoing development.

We only request personal information by lawful and fair means and with the knowledge or consent of yourself in order to carry out the legitimate interests such as,

The information we collect and why is easily understood or expected given the services we provide and the common methods we use, however where it may not be clear, we will inform you at the time of collecting personal information, what we are collecting and the purposes for which information is being collected.
Where personal information comes from
For services and treatments at the salon we ask you directly for your personal information. For recruitment and job opportunities we may ask you for references to contact and request information regarding you and your previous employment.
How long we keep information
We only keep your personal information for as long as we need it.
If you are a client of the salon, we will keep your personal information until you are no longer a client.
If you are an employee, we will keep your personal information while you are employed or processing final payments and pensions, and transfer of information to new employers as relevant.
If you are applying for a job, we will keep your information while the position is being evaluated for and you are being considered.
Who we share personal information with
Through the use of the appointment booking system, Salon Iris, data about you is available to the owner of this software, Day Smart Software. This includes the information you have provided, for example, name, address, contact details, and appointment requests. Salon Iris is maintained from their UK site in Tamworth and your data is not stored outside of the UK.
We also use contactless payment processing managed by a third-party provider, Payment Sense, (DOJO). They process your payment card details only, using their dedicated encrypted devices, card number, expiry date and CCV. We do not collect any of this data.

Your right to withdraw consent – When we use consent as our lawful basis you have the right to withdraw your consent.
You don’t usually need to pay a fee to exercise your rights. If you make a request, we have one calendar month to respond to you.
